NOTES
Known as polyvinyl chloride (precisely PVC), it is Il polyvinyl chloride, the most important polymer of the series obtained from vinyl monomers_una_una-136bad5cf58d_ consumption in the world .
In its pure form, it is a rigid material, mixed with inorganic compounds and plasticizing products, it is flexible and moldable. 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ at room temperature, but extremely dangerous if burned or heated to high temperatures of the presence of chlorine in the molecule, which can be released as hydrochloric acid, such as_cc781905-5cde-3194bad3-bad3 , or as vinyl chloride monomer.
LA PRODUCTION
The polymer is obtained from the polymerization of monomer vinyl chloride, formed by chlor, from carbon and hydrogen, then added with other substances, as stabilizers and lubricants specific physical-mechanical characteristics, in order to provide it with suitable characteristics in relation to the purpose of use.
Therefore, PVC is a mixture formed by the polymer and other substances that give the characteristics suitable for the desired applications.
-
Stabilizers which prevent aging and thermal degradation of the product,
-
Plasticizers to give the product flexibility and elasticity,
-
Lubricants to facilitate the processing of the mixture in processing machines or to give the corresponding products particular characteristics, such as resistance to light and atmosphere,
-
Pigments for coloring.
The transformation can take place either directly from resin mixed with additives during the production phase of the product or even through an intermediate phase called compounding in which a blend is produced that is already prepared to be subjected to the desired transformation technique.
USE
PVC is one of the most widespread and used plastics in the world in thousands of applications, from construction to food and pharmaceutical packaging, from medical-surgical aids to materials for civil protection, from paper converting to fashion and design. It is obviously used for the production of profiles for windows and doors.
EXTRUSION
This is the process of transformation of plastic materials currently used for the production of products such as i profiles for windows and doors. The main body of the machine used in this process, called extruder or extruder, it consists of a cylinder within which a worm screw rotates. To speed up processing times and improve the characteristics of some products, extruders with two or more screws are spreading.
During processing, the PVC mixture is fed into the hopper in the cylinder, where it is progressively heated until it melts, also due to the mechanical work of the screw itself which, by rotating, homogenizes and transports it, pushing it towards the exit hole. This, called die or matrix, is shaped according to the profile to be given to the product.
SURFACE TREATMENTS
The surface finish of PVC profiles for windows and doors is achieved through the application of hot-laid films during extrusion, which can be produced in each variant, coloration and desired effect. Normally, the profiles are made in standard color, before the application of the film (white, cream, brown).
